Taco Bell Biscuit Taco To Take Down McDonald’s

Taco Bell is challenging McDonald’s for your breakfast time by releasing a “biscuit taco“. The Mexican fast food chain broke into the breakfast game a couple years back and though I’ve yet to try any of new menu items, they all look exciting. I’m a sucker for food mashups and innovative food creations. But, for some reason, I can’t wrap my skull around this biscuit taco. Hold on. Okay, I think I get it now. Fried chicken in a taco-shell-shaped biscuit with honey on top. Why not. The South will eat it up.

The Bell wasn’t shy about throwing down the gauntlet on Mickey D’s, by also releasing this commerical…

…and this print ad (which I like)…

I love McDonald’s response, btw. A pic of Ronald McDonald kneeling down to pet the Taco Bell chihuahua. Fast Food Wars are fun and I look fwd to Taco Bell winning, per Demolition Man.

With every door that opens, another door closes. The “waffle taco” is no more. Uh, thanks for giving it a chance? I mean, I feel like I just found out about the waffle taco and it’s already gone? Hopefully, some forward thinking folks have cryogenically frozen a WT or two. I would kick myself if I kicked the bucket before tasting that Frankenfood.

For the longest time (3-6 months, an eternity in internet time), I’ve been trying to craft some jokes around Taco Bell’s schizophrenic approach to their commercials. One commercial highlights how “hands free” their product is and then sometimes in the same program, they’ll advertise how both your hands will be occupied by their product and you can’t put ’em down no matter what. Well, which one is it, TB? Hands-free or hands-full?

HANDS FREE…

OR HANDS FULL?
